Impression transport loc Warmenhuizen-Argentina
October 29, 2024On Thursday, October 24, colleagues from Bemo Rail, along with employees from the transport company Van der Vlist, were busy all day preparing our shunting locomotive for transport.
Once everything was ready to depart, there was a short wait until 8:00 p.m., as required by the issued permit. With the sun already set by then, this created a beautiful and spectacular scene in the dark.
This drew attention not only from local residents and passersby in Warmenhuizen but also from enthusiastic videographers. We received night-time footage from several people, for which we are very grateful.
In the attached video (partly with our own footage and partly contributed by others), you can see an impression of the start of the locomotive’s journey to the Port of Rotterdam. There, everything will be consolidated and prepared for shipping to Argentina.
This shunting locomotive is specially designed for use on industrial sites and is used to move heavy equipment.
We are proud that our “idiot-proof” machines are used worldwide, from Tata Steel to steel companies in Taiwan, and now in Argentina as well. In about a month and a half, the locomotive will reach its destination there.
A short impression of the beginning of the transport can be seen in the video below >>
The special transport attracted attention not only from people in Warmenhuizen but also from the Noordhollands Dagblad, which dedicated an article to it.
In a wonderful news piece in the Saturday edition of this local newspaper, our director Teun Druijff was interviewed.
You can read the article below (in Dutch), or follow this link to the newspaper’s website >>
Teun Druijf: I can confidently say that this locomotive is 'idiot-proof'. It can withstand a beating and is suited for heavy equipment.
