Bemo Rail has been designing and producing shunting locomotives since the 1980s. We offer various drive options, including an electric drive. We have two types of electric locomotives: the BRE and the KRE locomotive. These are Bemo Rail’s own designs. KRE is the compact version of the BRE locomotive.

This safe, modern and user-friendly locomotive can be made in many versions. This shunting locomotive is provided with energy by means of a battery or via a cable reel on the shore. The capacity of the battery is determined in such a way that the locomotive is operational for at least a day and is adjusted to the possibilities of the loading infrastructure.

This locomotive can also be adapted to all wishes and is manufactured in our own workshop. Besides the battery version, you can also choose a version where the power supply is connected to the shore via a reel.

Operation

Standard Bemo locomotive control, specifically designed for use under heavy-duty
Trembling- and temperature-resistant
Manually and/or radio remote controlled, if required with explosion proof encapsulation.
Accelerating and braking according to fixed curves, as a result of which:
- Always very steady behaviour (reaction) of the rail shunter
- Incorrect control is virtually impossible.
- Consequently any operator can work with the rail shunter.

Mechanics

2. Reducing the risk of derailment

Short delivery times on parts

Maintenance

Easily accessible, no special lubrication pit required
Daily maintenance can be performed by in-house technical service
Intervals are set up as optimally as possible, depending on the application

Locomotive range

Bemo Rail offers various types of shunting vehicles, view the locomotive range of our vehicles. Thanks to our in-house engineering department, a fully equipped workshop and the necessary knowledge of rails and wagons, the possibilities are numerous.

For example, you can choose from various drive options such as hydrostatic or hydrodynamic drive with diesel engine, or an electric or hybrid drive. The locomotive can be operated manually, but also by remote control. Our shunting locomotives can be built with a power of 10kN to 300kN and have a tensile strength varying from 50 to 4800 tons.

In addition to our standard models, we also offer customized shunting solutions.
